Kitchens Dada Engineered

Today, with the Group’s expansion worldwide and the Molteni&C brand’s establishment in the high-end home furnishing sector, the integration of kitchens under the Molteni&C brand has become strategic.

This has led to the creation of Dada Engineered, which is much more than a name; it is a seal of innovation, a new tool for relating and certifying the attention and care that we have always put into kitchen design.

Round D.154.5 design Gio Ponti

More than 60 years after the original idea, Round (D.154.5) was reborn thanks to the Heritage Collection reissue project by Molteni&C, in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives.

Round D.154.5 design Gio Ponti — The project name, Round D.154.5, comes from the rounded shape of the seat and backrests, also referred to as the ‘soap bar’.

Round D.154.5 — Round D.154.5 is also referred to as ‘Otto Pezzi’ (Eight Pieces) in the Ponti/Fornaroli/Rosselli study. A totally new product, an industrial design, thought for a world where we talk about assembly, ease of production.

Round D.154.5 design Gio Ponti — There are eight pieces that make up the chair: backrest, seat, two curved plywood elements and four legs, which screw into the seat to hold the whole thing together.

Round D.154.5 design Gio Ponti — Full production began in 1956/1957 and it was officially presented at the 11th Milan Triennale in 1957 (Feal Pavilion), along with other innovative Ponti furnishings, in a limited number of examples

Heritage Collection

A collection that looks to the future, an artistic and cultural heritage signed by great masters such as Gio Ponti, Werner Blaser, Yasuhiko Itoh as well as Afra and Tobia Scarpa.

D.153.1 — D.153.1

Designed in 1953, the D.153.1 armchair is part of the furniture of Gio Ponti’s private house in via Dezza in Milan. It features a brass structure, cover in bicolor white-blue leather or “Punteggiato” fabric

D.859.1 — D.859.1

The D.859.1 table, designed primarily as a meeting table for up to ten people, stands out not only for its impressive size—over 3,60 meters long—but especially for its simple yet refined design. The legs are notable for their fine-membered modernity, creating a trapezoidal single-span bridge upon which the large tapered top conveys the idea of aerodynamics.

Designed by Gio Ponti and produced for Altamira, an American company founded by the nephew of the Spaniard De Cuevas, was displayed in the company’s showroom in New York, along with furniture by Ico Parisi, Franco Albini, Carlo De Carli, Ignazio Gardella and others, chosen from among the most representative exhibitors at the 10th Milan Triennale.

Dopo oltre 70 anni dal progetto originale, la consolle D.847.1 rinasce grazie al progetto di riedizioni Heritage Collection di Molteni&C, in collaborazione con i Gio Ponti Archives.

The armchair, designed for one of the projects closest to Gio Ponti’s heart, the villa of the Planchart collectors in Caracas (1953-57), it is part of the Gio Ponti Collection.

D.151.4 — D.151.4

Always passionate about nautical furnishings, Gio Ponti gained direct experience in four ocean liners and two cruise ships upgraded or built from scratch after the war, between 1949 and 1951: the Conte Grande, Africa, Oceania, Conte Biancamano, Andrea Doria and Giulio Cesare. Ponti designed this easy chair with slight variants for these ships.

Architecture, a pan virtuosity, acrobatic proportions and an intersection of joints. An infinite table which is a geometric dialogue between the glass and rosewood – lightness and abstraction distilled.
